Humanitarian action in support of the Hastor Foundation

Sarajevo,  24/12/08
The ASA Art Gallery was the venue of an auction of selected works by renowned Bosnian artists Hamo Ibrulj and Sead Čerkez. All the proceeds from the auction were aimed at supporting the education of the scholars of the Hastor Foundation.

The buyers registered for the auction could bid for a total of 20 paintings by Ibrulj and Čerkez. 17 of the 20 offered paintings were purchased, raising a total of BAM 21,000, which were then forwarded to the account of the Hastor Foundation.

As a non-profit organisation registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Hastor Foundation has recognised the significance of creating education opportunities for youth in the country. Following its strategy of education as the key to success, the Hastor Foundation hosts projects that help young people living in a state of social and economic need. The Foundation plans to sponsor a total of 970 young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina by the end of the 2008/2009 academic year.

One of the main objectives of the Foundation is striving to engage young people to use hard work and motivation, as well as their own resources, to come to grips with the challenges of modern society. The Foundation also includes its scholars in volunteering activities within the Foundation’s projects, where they can work towards developing their local communities, learn to be tolerant, contribute to the fight against prejudice and stereotypes that affect them and others, and thus benefit Bosnian society as a whole.

Every letter, drawing and photograph that we receive at the Foundation only serves to give us more motivation and strength to continue working towards our mission and persevere in our efforts to build a path to a safer and brighter future for our youth.

The ASA Prevent Group and its member companies are committed to continue organising charity events of this kind, as we too wish to provide educational opportunities for as many young people whose material hardship does not allow them to be educated.
